About Ohros
Hello! I'm Georgia, I am Ohros, we are one.
'The Ohros Story'... it started with a need for a hobby. I had tried all sorts of crafts over the years, I was always 'sticking and gluing' as my parents would say.
I made my first candle in Jan 2016 but it took me months of trials before I sold any.
Ohros was a home hobby, alongside my full-time corporate job, it was my creative outlet that grew. Everyday, I would take a tote bag (or 3) of orders on the overground and save my holiday for candle season so I could maximise my time for Christmas markets.
Over the years, I have been lucky enough to work with some incredible businesses, ones I have always admired: Sweaty Betty, Lazy Oaf, Crosstown. Ohros has been featured in various publications: Vegan Food & Living, Courier and Veggie Magazine as well as LOOK and NME.
Ohros has collaborated with many small indie businesses, creating custom scents, e.g. milkshake flavours for Vurger Co, bespoke scents for youtuber Amazing Phil and even a chocolate brownie candle for A Kind Mama.
It had reached a tipping point and in Oct 2020, mid pandemic I took the plunge, volunteered for redundancy and went fulltime candle. Now, I still make everything by hand (from the wick to the label) in my dream Hackney studio.
Ohros has scented weddings and birthing rooms. They have been gifted for love or loss, celebrations and commiserations. To meditate with, to relax with, to set the mood for dinner parties or lazy coffee mornings. They are more than candles, it's what happens with those candles - what they mean to people.
I am so very thankful for everything Ohros has become. To make something to bring others a tiny slither of joy in this world is my greatest honour.
Thank you for being here, thank you for choosing Ohros.
